Dr Jaco Voorham, PhD

Senior Researcher

A biologist by training, Jaco worked in infectious disease epidemiology and malaria entomology in South America until 2002.

After that he worked as an assistant professor at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, on drug utilisation and other pharmaco-epidemiological research, where he did his PhD on “Assessing cardiometabolic treatment quality in general practice”.

He has extensive experience in database research and has set up a database of GP data himself in the past, holding data from over 200 general practitioners in the Netherlands. Jaco has a keen interest in observational research methodology, and loves to be involved in all aspects of observational database research, from design, data handling, analyses to report writing and dissemination.
