Julia is a freelance scientific consultant and medical writer doing NHS-, academia- and pharma-related work across a range of clinical and therapeutic areas. Prior to this, she spent 13 years as an epidemiologist and project manager of clinical research studies, mainly in the area of neurology (encepalitis).
Julia obtained her first degree in Medical Microbiology (Hons) at the University of Edinburgh and subsequently went on to complete a Masters in Clinical Tropical Microbiology at University College London. She has spent time in both Thailand and Tanzania working on infectious disease epidemiology. She completed a PhD on the incidence and causes of encephalitis in England at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
She has published numerous peer reviewed papers and is a Member of the European Medical Writer’s Association.
