We are looking to appoint a General Manager capable of driving delivery and building a business with endless potential.

About the company: Optimum Patient Care (OPC) provide clinical reviews, reporting services, and observational research support services to over 600 GP practices across the UK; to support GPs with managing their patients with asthma, COPD and other chronic conditions. The ethos underpinning the services provided by OPC is to support research in primary care to improve patient care. Over the past decade, OPC have established one of the largest GP databases, called the Optimum Patient Care Research Database (OPCRD). OPCRD is a unique database which holds three million anonymised electronic health records with links to information on patient reported data. OPCRD is regularly used for ethically approved research purposes and published both nationally and globally.

As a key member of the company hierarchy, the General Manager is responsible for overseeing the entirety of the business operations. The General Manager must ensure that company goals are met in a timely fashion by efficiently and effectively managing finance, personnel and resources. We are looking for a proactive manager, capable of proposing and delivering solutions.

The General Manager will need to:

  • Recruit, train and develop the team
  • Guarantee the communication between the teams
  • Lead the team by example
  • Make sure the company standards and procedure are respected at all the time
  • Manage and maximize sales and marketing plan
  • Take responsibility for the financial and operational management of the company

Education, qualifications and experience

  • Good standard of general education: Degree level or above
  • Previous experience and proven track record in senior management roles
  • Background ideally in a scientific or health related role
  • Experience with quality and ethical systems

A full-time post with immediate start based in Cambridge UK is available and preferred. The salary is negotiable and dependent on experience and performance in the role.
